Obituary

William L. Scully, age 92, passed away after a brief illness. Bill lived a long, fun and healthy life- including 15 years of dedicated Tai Chi practice. Preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Elisabeth. He was a loving father to Walter (Lori) of Winchester, MA and Danielle of Columbus, Ohio and Opa to Spencer, Evan and Ryan. Survived by sister, Clemetine Fasbender of Jackson Heights, NY and Joseph (Marianne) of Sedona, AZ. A 41-year resident of Hudson, Ohio and recently resided in Clintonville and Columbus, Ohio. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on October 9, 1933 to William and Clementine (Makray) Scully. Attended St. John’s College in Brooklyn and earned a B.A. in English. He went on to the Cooper Union School of Engineering and received his Engineering Degree from Farleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey. Early sales jobs at Sun Radio, Lafayette Radio and Harvey Sound led to a 30-year career at General Electric (GE) retiring from Nela Park Lighting Division in Cleveland. Bill was an avid reader. He loved to tell stories and talk with all. He was funny and liked to tell pithy jokes (mostly appropriate ones) and share word plays. He was a kind and gentle soul. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and entire care staff at Riverside Methodist Hospital and Kobacker House.
