Obituary

Wiiliam Ray Crawford, age 84, died at his home on Friday, August 22, 2003. Born January 14, 1919 in Columbus, Ohio to Harold Ray and Olive Crawford. He was a WWII Army Veteran, serving with the 19th Combat Engineers in N. Africa and Italy. He began his career with the Pennsylvania R.R. in 1939 and retired after 40 years of service as a conductor with Conrail. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 51years Rose(Finelli). Survived by daughter Mary Jo (Edward) Malowney of Alpharetta, GA, son Robert (Kay) Crawford of Worthington, OH, granddaughters: Megan-Anne (Jon) Barnard of Mt. Holly, N.C., Erin (Jason) Clary of Sugar Hill, GA, and Ashley Crawford of Columbus, OH. Also survived by brother Robert R. (Mildred) Crawford of Melbourne, FL. Family will receive friends on Monday, August 25, 2003 at the John Quint & Sons Funeral Home, 1177 West Fifth Avenue, from 2:00-4:00 pm & 6:00-8:00 pm. Prayer Service at 7:45 p.m. with Pastor Malcolm Scott. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 26, 2003 at St. Timothy Church, 1088 Thomas Lane, Rev. Fr. Thomas Shonebarger,Officiating. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, 6440 S. High Street. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Bill's memory to Hospice at Riverside/Grant, 3595 Olentangy River Rd., Columbus, Ohio 43214.
