Serio John DiPietro, age 88, passed away on Sunday September 12th 2004 at Riverside Methodist Hospital surrounded by his family. Serio was born in Columbus, Ohio on February 19, 1916 to the late Giulio & Adelina DiPietro. He Graduated from Central High School and served his country during World War ll as a member of the US Merchant Marines. Serio retired from the Belmont Casket Company and the Lazarus Furniture Department. He was a charter and active member of the SFI Lodge, St. Clair AC, Amici D'Oro Club and the AmVets Post 89 as well as a standing member of St. Matthias Catholic Church. Serio touched many lives and upon whom he had a profound influence, especially family and friends. The best husband, father and grandfather will be dearly missed. He is preceded in death by his brother Ornelia(Diamond)DePietro and sister Sienna(Melvin)Thomas.He is survived by by his loving wife of 65 years Alice, son David(Patti)DiPietro, daughter Sharon(Peter)Bush, grandchildren Denise and Steven Bush and Kristin DiPietro, brother Joseph(Velma)DePietro, sisters Louise(Dante)Guzzo, Mary Susi, Lena DelCol and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call, Wednesday September 15th, 2004 at the John Quint Treboni Funeral Home, 1177 W. 5th Avenue, from 4:00-8:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 6:00 PM and all Club Services starting at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 AM on Thursday September 16th 2004 at St. Matthias Catholic Church, 1582 Ferris Road, Rev. Fr. James T. Smith, Celebrant. Interment will follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery, 6440 South High Street.
