Rosie was born in The Plains, Ohio on August 23, 1917. She moved to Corning, Ohio with her parents James and Theresa Barrett. She graduated from Corning High School in 1935 where she played center on the girls varsity basketball team. After graduation she worked for the WPA sewing military uniforms. In 1936 she fell in love and married John Hamrick from San Toy, Ohio. They were married 53 years and in 1988 John passed away, John and Rosie had 3 children, Bill (Ernestine) Hamrick; Lynne Diane Mara; and Dona (Tom) Blake. Her grandchildren, John, Jenny (Mark), Jamie, Andrea, Jeff, Christina (Dan) have many fond memories visiting their grandparents. She also has 11 great grandchildren. Rosie is also survived by sisters Irene Toth, Blanche Martin, Margaret Mingus, brother James Barrett, sister-in-law Wanda Hamrick and brother-in-law Don Hamrick. Many nieces and nephews. Rosie was very proud of her large loving Hungarian family and always looked forward to our family reunions which were held every year at the St. Bernards social hall in Corning, Ohio. Preceded in death by parents, sisters Julia Ruziska, Elizabeth Adams, Esther Garbline, Jean Morrow, Mary Hettich brother Joseph Barrett and son-in-law Joe Mara, January 2011. Family will receive friends on Monday, July 15, at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 West Fifth Avenue from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with service at 1:00 PM. Her great niece Theresa Roshon, officiating. A special thanks to Avia Senior Living, Arlington Court Nursing Home and Home Reach Hospice.
