Obituary
Ronald "Ron, Ronnie, RJ, Jonesy" Jeremy Jones, 51, of Hilliard, died unexpectedly and too soon on April 8, 2009. He is preceded in death by his one-and-only "kiddo" Lindsay Jones, father Harry Jones and brother-in-law Andrew Schneider. Ron is survived by his devoted wife and "keeper of his heart", Laura Schneider Jones, mother, Aldona Jones of North Olmsted, OH and siblings: Lesa Powsey, Rodger (Joy) Jones, Laura (Lee) Gordon. Also survived by his parents and siblings-in-law: Bill and Mickey Schneider, Kirk (Kathy) Schneider, Mary Ann (Randy) Eaton, John (Debbie) Schneider, nieces and nephews: Heidi Powsey; Jessi Jones Hayes, Evan and Brady Jones; Kira, Tyler and Alex Gordon; Amy Schneider Mesh, Josh Schneider; James, Andrew and DiAnna Schneider, special friends: Joe Botti, Tim Zahler, Keith Mills, Mark Fracker, Chip Hart, Buddy Pfister, Rick Stephan, his CSG kitchen staff, and his constant shadow and car-riding companion Sedona. Family always came first for Ron as a dedicated husband, father, son, brother and uncle. In work, his greatest pride was serving the students of Columbus School for Girls. Not only did he think about their needs, but delivered his gifts with joy and care. He was an avid sports fan, especially baseball and particularly the Cleveland Indians. He loved all fishing, especially for Lake Erie "smallies," and traveling to his special getaway: Culebra Island, PR. He was also very proud of his restored 1973 TR6. Ron attended The Ohio State University. He was employed in the food service industry for more than 30 years and was a culinary genius. Above all, Ron was a gentle, loving man who will be missed by so many and in more ways than he could ever imagine. It certainly was not for a lack of love and prayer that Ron was lost to us. Like his daughter Lindsay, Ron chose to give the gift of life through organ and tissue donation. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Ron to Lifeline of Ohio, 770 Kinnear Road, Suite 200, Columbus, Ohio 43212. Arrangements entrusted to the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME. Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 AM, MONDAY, April 13, 2009 at St. Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church, 4475 Dublin Road, Hilliard, OH 43026. Family will receive friends immediately following at the Wellnitz Hall. Condolences may be sent via www.johnquint.com.

Ron was a very special person. He connected with so many people in many ways. He and I discussed life, sports, and children. He was a very special person to my daughter who attended CSG. On her first visit to school since graduating in 2002, Ron was at the top of her list of people to visit; he hugged her warmly and made her feel welcomed. It was his way. He cared deeply about the students and his faculty friends. He will remain in our hearts. He will not be forgotten.
You, who loved him most, remain in our prayers.

Vicki and I, along with my sons Bo and Zach, loved Ron dearly. I roomed with Ron at Ohio State and can only say that we had more fun both during and after college then any other 2 guys there. We had so much fun that they threw me out and kept Ron out of spite. I will always cherish those memories and the times we got together for the rest of my life.
Our hearts are with Laura and the family and will be forever.

Whether Ron and I were hanging out in front of the grill discussing sports, cars, or vacations, going to an Indians game or talking about the Browns I will always remember those special times with him. But the greatest gift Ron gave me was the comfort and security knowing that he loved my little sister very much.
Love,
Your big Brother.

I want to express my condolences on the passing of Ron- It is hard to beleive that such a vibrant, warm man could be taken in the prime of life. As a graduate of CSG in 1994, I have so many fond memories of Ron and the rest of the kitchen staff. Always ready with a kind word, a warm chocolate chip cookie, and never frustrated with the often crazy antics of a bunch of teenage girls. He will truly be missed by many and will always be a part of my fondest memories of high school.

I'm not sure you'll remember me from summer ball at NCS but my son, Eric, was on the Rockies this year. We were all so shocked to hear the awful news. Ron gave my son a great deal of confidence and support with his baseball skills and gave Eric and Robert and all the team a particularly wonderful memory in that special Cleveland game where they got to go on the field! What a thrill for a 12 yr old boy (and the 40 yr old boy too!) Ron had a generous spirit and a warm personality. We feel lucky to have known him, if only for one season.
In deepest sympathy -

Your husband was an incredible human being and brought much joy, understanding, wise counsel when needed, and laughter to those around him. He was exceedingly compassionate and loved you "without ceasing," and we are certain is continuing to do so. The depth of your relationships with family, friends, and co-workers clearly demonstrates the positive power of that loving and caring spirit. We cherish our memories of the times we spent together and wish him Godspeed on this final journey.

Dear Laura,
I'm so glad that my class shared a freshman year with Ron at CSG-- he was our partner in crime, like a big brother, and brought amazing food to CSG after so many years of chipped beef. But that's just the beginning of it-- I'm so thankful for his friendship in the years since then and for meeting you through Ron. You two had and have a love and devotion to each other for us all to admire and hope for. I am so sad that he was taken so soon from you and his family and friends, but I will do my best to carry on his legacy of smiles, compassion, and zest for life. My heart and thoughts are with you. The Summer will not be the same without Ron's caring affection and open heart. He was a remarkable man.

Both Jane and I were very saddened to hear the sudden news of Ron's passing. Attending his resurrection mass this morning was a "no-brainer"-a very nice service. Your eulogy was very touching, especially your memorializing Ron as always looking out for the "little guy". Both Jane and I immediately thought of his relationship with Nick. His patience and mentoring of Nick over the past 11 years at CSG transformed Nick from a disabled child to a responsible adult. From all of this saddness, Jane and I find the silver lining in that both Ron and Nick are living an eternal life together and we are sure continuing the long discussion of who is the better team - the Indians or the Yankees.
Our deepest sympathy,
Bob and Jane
