Obituary

Robert Dean "Curley" Summers, age 76, passed away on Saturday, May 27th, 2006 at Kobacker House. Born June 5, 1929 in Fayette County. A 1947 Graduate of Washington Court House High School he was a sports announcer for WBEX Radio in Chillicothe; coached grade school basketball and track at St. Peter's Chillicothe,Trinity/St. Chrisopher's Columbus. Bob dedicated many, many years to the Knights of Columbus in which he held the following offices; Grand Knight of Council 1071 Chillicothe,and many years as Ohio State Squires Chairman. He was awarded Council Knight of the Year in 1959, 1972, 1976, Columbus Chapter Knight of the Year in 1988 and the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2003. Member of Columbian Martyrs Assembly and St. Joseph Council, Plain City. Retired from American Electric Power after 30 years. He is preceded in death by son Daniel and grandson Arlington Miller. Survived by loving wife of 53 years, Patty (Pinnix); sons David (Charlyn), Douglas; daughters Cindy Miller of Bascom, OH, Mary (Howard) Geiss; and Jackie (Jack) McQuade; 10 grandchildren, one great grandchild, brother Woodrow Summers and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call TUESDAY, May 30th, 2006 at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 W. 5th Avenue, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM with a Prayer Service at 3:30 PM. Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 AM on WEDNESDAY, May 31st, 2006 at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 1420 Grandview Avenue, Columbus, Ohio Msgr. John K. Cody and Rev.Fr. Richard Snoke, Concelebrants. THOSE ATTENDING THE FUNERAL MASS ARE TO MEET AT THE CHURCH. Private burial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may contribute in memory of Robert to the St. Christopher Lighting Fund,1420 Grandview Avenue,Columbus Ohio 43212 or St. Vincent de Paul Society (St. Lawrence Haven) 197 East Gay Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215.
