God saw him getting tired, a cure not meant to be. He puts His arms around him, and whispered "come with me." Peter G. Moro, age 85, of Columbus, Ohio, died peacefully after a lengthy illness on Thursday, June 4, 2009. Pete was retired as a carpenter and home builder. He served with the U.S. Army, participating in the D-Day invasion at Omaha Beach 65-years ago on June 6, 1944. He was an avid golfer and member of the American-Italian Golf Association, K of C Council #2898 and VFW Post 614. He was preceded in death by his parents, Domenico and Nicolina; brothers, Joseph and Albert; sister, Helen Montenaro; brother-in-law, Angelo Ioia; and sister-in-law, Angie. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marguerite (Romas); daughters, Ramona of Columbus, Melody (Matthew) Apter of Altamonte Springs, Fl., and Col. Robin Moro, USAF, of Arlington Va.; adorable granddaughters, Meredith and Melissa; brothers, Sam and Geno (Margaret); sisters, Mary Ioia and Esther (George) Melaragno; sister-in-law, Joan Moro; brother-in-law, Joseph Montenaro; and lifelong friend, Dick Essex, whom he considered a brother. Friends and family are asked to gather on Tuesday, June 9 for his Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m., at St. Timothy Catholic Church, 1088 Thomas Lane, Columbus, Oh., 43220, followed by his burial at St. Joseph Cemetery, Lockbourne, Oh. Rev. Father Timohty Hayes, Presider. His family will receive friends on Monday, June 8, from 4:00-7:00 p.m., with a Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m., at THE JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 W.
