Ovidio Moscardino, age 81, originally of Venafro, Italy, passed away peacefully, Monday, January 14, 2013, surrounded by his family. He was born October 18, 1931 to Marciano and Filomena Moscardino who preceded him in death; also preceding him in death were sisters, Sister Pasquina, Assunta, Maria, Annina and Rita; and brothers, Gaetano, Giulio, Ernesto and Mario. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Antonietta "Toni" (Altieri) Moscardino; sons, Mauro (Debby) Moscardino and Giovanni Moscardino; grandsons, Mark and Andrew Moscardino; brothers-in-law, Mario Altieri and wife Ada, and Donato Altieri and wife Miriam. nephews, nieces and special friends in both Italy and America. Ovidio brought his family to the United States in 1966, to work as a professional stone mason. He became an associate of the Maeder-Quint-Tiberi Funeral Home on the Southside and then retired from the John Quint Treboni Funeral Home in the Grandview area where he was a valued and trusted staff member. He engraved the sign at the Columbus Museum of Art, a creative marble craftsman and a natural gardender; his fig tree was one a kind! He was an active member of Amici D'Oro, The Guild Athletic Club, Flytown Club and the St. Francis Seniors. Special thanks to the staff of Kobacker House! Ovidio's family will receive friends on Thursday, January 17, 2013 from 4-8 p.m. at THE JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 W. Fifth Avenue, Columbus, with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. GAC and Flytown services at 7:30 p.m. His funeral Mass is Friday, January 18, 2013, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Agatha Catholic Church, 1860 Northam Road (Upper Arlington) with Reverend Father Daniel L.
