Obituary

Norma Jean (Harris) Coccia, age 91, of Westerville, passed away at her home under the care of her loving son, Mark, on Sunday, October 20, 2013, and surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 11, 1922, one of ten children of the late Henry and Lena (Roth) Harris in Columbus. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her 11 children, 25 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren. She loved to cook, sew and was a friend to all. Through the years, she won several ribbons at the Ohio State Fair with her doll collections and antiques. Preceded in death by husbands, Joseph J. DeMatteis and Alfred P. Coccia; brothers, Edwin, Albert, Earl and Harry; sisters, Eva Shull and Juanita Dick. Survived by sons, Fred DeMatteis, Alfred (Nancy) Coccia, Michael (Betsy) Coccia, Jerry (Kathy) Coccia and Mark Coccia; daughters, Jo Ann (Bob) Hurtt, Patty (Rob) Lehman, Linda DeMatteis, Connie (Domenic) Magnacca, Mary (Leigh) Ashbaugh and Margie (Bill) Butz; grandchildren; great grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Sailor, Grace Hall and Betty Rowe; sister-in-law, Mary Rossetti; many nieces, nephews and friends. Friends may call Wednesday, October 23, 2013 from 2-8 p.m., at THE JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 West Fifth Avenue, Columbus, with a Prayer Service at 3:00 p.m. Funeral Mass 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 24, 2013 at St. Paul Catholic Church, 313 N. State, Westerville. Burial to follow, St. Joseph Cemetery, Lockbourne. A special thanks to Carol Proctor of Harbor Light.
