Obituary

Nellie Scarpitti, age 85, passed away on April 27, 2009 at Mount Carmel West hospital. Preceded in death by parents Nicola and Leonora Scarpitti; brothers Romeo, Vito, Ugo and Orland Scarpitti; sisters Edith Amicon and Dena Del Ciello. Survived by brother Albert Scarpitti and sister Dora Scarpitti; sisters-in-law Florence Scarpitti and Mary Ellen Scarpitti Murphy; many cousins, nieces and nephews; special friends Mary Chapin, Phyllis Hall and Carolyn Rhodes. Nellie was a retired Lazarus Executive with 35 years of service and was a member of the Lazarus 20 year club. She was also a member of the Young at Heart Club. Nellie enjoyed every day of her volunteer work at Mount Carmel Medical Center from 1985-2009. A life-time and dedicated member of Saint Margaret of Cortona Church, Nellie volunteered as an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist, sacristan, bingo worker and served during the Bishops Annual Appeal. Friends may call THURSDAY, April 30, 2009 at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 W. 5th Avenue, from 4:00-8:00 PM with a Rosary at 7:45 PM. Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 AM on FRIDAY, May 1, 2009 at St. Margaret of Cortona Catholic Church, 1600 N. Hague Avenue, Rev. Msgr. Frank P. Lane, Celebrant and Rev. Msgr. Anthony Borrelli, Concelebrant. Interment will follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery, 6440 South High Street, Lockbourne, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may contribute in memory of Nellie to the St. Margaret of Cortona Catholic Church. Condolences may be sent via www.johnquint.com.
