Obituary
Mildred “Millie” E. Longo (Lees), age 68, passed away peacefully with her family by her side February 21, 2012 after an extended battle with Multiple Myeloma. She was born in Columbus, OH on April 16, 1943. After raising two children, Millie began her career as a food representative for Pfeister Co. and then spent several years as a realtor for King Thompson Coldwell Banker. After retiring, she spent several winters in her home in Bonita Springs, Florida and summers in Dublin, OH. Millie loved the outdoors while gardening, walking the beaches, hiking, and biking. She always loved a new adventure and was fortunate enough to travel to many different destinations. She enjoyed sewing and crafts. Millie was a member of Twig 180 (benefitting Children’s Hospital) as well as a member of the Dublin Garden Club. Her greatest passion was always supporting and loving all eleven of her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents: Dwight and Esther Lees. Millie is survived by her loving devoted husband, Denny “Dan” Longo, her children: Ellen Moretti, Rick (Megan) Evans, step-daughter Marianne (Martin) Murphy, grandchildren: Mason, Myles, Makayla Moretti; Erin and Grace Evans; Brittany (Mike) Stockdale, Zack and Madison Kerscher, Matthew, Elizabeth and Katelyn Murphy, sister: Martha (Wayne) Thoms, sister-in-law: Judy (Gary) Rizor, Nieces: Laura (Rob) Kochis, Karen (Ashley) Hancock, great nephews: Ryan and Jared Kochis and great-niece Hailey Kochis. Our family would like to thank Dr. Craig Hofmeister, the myeloma team, nurses, pca’s and staff for all their years of kind and compassionate care at the OSU James Cancer Hospital. The family will receive friends on SUNDAY February 26, 2012 from 2PM-6PM at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 W. 5th Avenue Columbus, OH. The funeral will be held at 10AM MONDAY February 27, 2012 at Upper Arlington Lutheran Church, 2300 Lytham Road, Columbus, OH 43220. Interment will follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery, Lockbourne, OH. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may contribute in memory of Millie to support the Multiple Myeloma research fund at The Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute, 660 Ackerman Road, P.O. Box 183112 Columbus, OH 43218-3112. Please Note Fund #306144 in any check memo line. Dear Dan and all of Millie's family -
I offer my sincere sympathy at the passing of yor beloved Millie. I 'met' Millie when researching her Legner family line. Willingly, she provided needed information. After the publication of the Legner Book, Millie was able to read of her Legner heritage. For her mother's 100th birthday, Millie found "tidbits" of family history in the book as she put together a Memory Book for her mother Esther's milestone birthday.
She is now enjoying quality time with her Mother in eternal bliss in the company of their Savior, Jesus. I will miss her email messages.
Love,
Don (3rd cousin on the Legner side)

Dear Dan & family, we were so saddned to learn of Millie's death. We certainly are happy to have gotten better acquainted in recent years through phone calls and visits. Millie was always so upbeat when we called. She never complained - was a real trooper. We will surely miss those special phone calls. That is such a special picture of Millie on her obituary. Our thoughts and prayers will continue to be with you all. Love, John & Sherry Steppert

Dan,
My heart goes out to you. We don't think the day will ever come but we know that it will. I'm sure Millie will continue to be Millie and will enjoy her paridise journey just as we explored new worlds in the Smoky Mountains, eh?

Remembering my dear friend, Millie Longo. She & hubby Dan, and John & I, bicycled and had such fun together in the past. We climbed out to Charlie's Bunion in the Smokey Mountains. We discovered on another Smokies trip that we could indeed hike and have a blast - even tho 3 of us were so sick with colds - with help from the nice combination of Rebel Yell, honey & lemon. We 4 watched the sun rise on Mt. Pleasant on a crisp clear New Year's morning at Malibar Farms. Millie lived courageously since 2007 with Multiple Myeloma. You have given me strength, beautiful Millie, in your love of life and in your peaceful passing.

Dear Denny:
I always think about the day you & Millie & Jack & I first met at the first Hope Lutheran Bonita Bay beach party walking along the beach. I just felt totally connected to Millie as a good friend right from the start. She's been in my prayers ever since then. She certainly put up a good fight for a long time. Now she has total rest & peace with our Lord! Finally; good for her! We pray for "All God's Blessings to You". May God give you His peace & comfort as you mourn her loss. In Christ, Diane & Jack Simon
