Obituary

Kyle Scott Kovaleski, age 33, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 21, 2008. He worked for Scotts Miracle-Gro Flight Department as a chief assistance pilot since 2003. Kyle was an accomplished Jet and Helicopter Pilot. He was a qualified scuba diver, a graduate of Embry Riddle Aeronautical College with two degrees. Kyle had a special love for his three canine friends, Aspen, Makya, and Chopper along with his feline friends, Sedona, Alley and Mia. Reach for the moon and land in the stars as Kyle always did. He is preceded in death by father, Stephen Kovaleski, grandfather Neal Short, grandparents Harry and Ann Keeton and step-brother Bryan Smith. Survived by his mother Susie Smith, step-father Spencer Smith, grandmother, Patricia Short, brother Kurt (Shannon) Kovaleski, step-brothers Chris (Rachael) Smith, Jeff and daughter Kathryn Smith and Spencer II (Lisa) Smith, step-sisters Tanya (Aaron) Semel, Kahleen (Trevor) Rozowsky, his loving and devoted girlfriend, Ashley Winkhart, aunt and uncles Peg (Boyer) Simcox, Helen (Les) Walters, cousins Marie (Bill) Safreed, Shelly Lester and Mary (Oliver) Simcox-Decker, ex-wife Sara Kovaleski and many nieces and nephews. Also survived by many close and dear friends and a special place for his friends and co-workers at the Flight Department of Scotts Miracle-Gro Company. Friends may call SUNDAY, October 26, 2008 at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 W. 5th Avenue, from 2:00-8:00 PM. A Time To Remember Kyle will be held 10:00 AM on MONDAY October 27, 2008 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery, 6440 S. High Street, Lockbourne, Ohio. I am profoundly sorry to hear of Kyle's passing. I knew Kyle as a fellow pilot during the time he was flight instructing at OSU airport. I flew with him on a number of occasions and considered him a friend. He was a fine young man.
