My deepest sympathies on Kurt's passing. I will never forget his infectious laugh, intellectual curiosity, and political passion. He always lit up the room when he walked in. He made me put up an 8 x 11 picture when he graduated high school and it remains there today, as it will always. His smile will still greet me every day. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I know that I can't even begin to imagine the mix of emotions and saddness caused by your undeserved loss. I met a lot of people when I came to Ohio State, and Kurt was one of the most genuine. He adamantly stood by his convictions, and was always a joy to be around. He was the kind of guy that you looked forward to seeing, because you knew your day was going to be improved because of it. I will deeply miss Kurt, and I am truly sorry for your loss.

I remember Kurt in Eddie O basketball and I think we both knew that basketball was not going to be his gift. But Kurt had so many more important gifts. Kurt was a kind person with deep moral convictions and was wise beyond his years. I remember Bill and Kurt’s trip to the Kerry Edwards rally and that I was amazed about his knowledge on American political processes. And I’ll always cherish the camping trips to Grand Haven in the spring and autumn. Take care always, God bless you. You will be in our prayers.

We are so deeply sorry for the loss of Kurt. We got to know him through our son Eric, who considered Kurt one of his closest friends. He was always smiling, laughing, just a very enjoyable person. We always enjoyed having him come over to the house. We enjoyed a trip to Cedar Point with him last summer when he and Eric met us there. I was glad I had the opportunity to know Kurt. We will miss him.
Our deepest sympathy.

We were shocked to learn of Kurt's death at age 23. One of our worst fears is that of having to say a final goodbye to one of our own children. This is just not the way life should be. We know you will never forget Kurt and you should not. You will heal but it will take a very long time. God Bless and you have our deepest sympathy.

I was floored and shocked to hear of this sad, sad news. No teacher can forget their first class and Kurt was a standout at Hickory Grove during my first year of teaching. Lacking classroom management as a newcomer, I remember how I could count on Kurt. I remember his kindness, his great work ethic and I remember how polite he was. I know this is strange, but I can honestly remember thinking that I hoped my nephews (and if I was blessed to have my own son someday) would be just like him. I am so incredibly sorry for your loss.

Heard of your terrible loss via the GE alumni and had to offer my condolences. Our son, Peter, would be 23 today but died from a brain tumor in 2006. This hole in your heart will be there forever. But it will let in new light from all of the good people that surrond you. Kurt's passing will not stop the postive influence he had on many people in many ways. You will still see gracious glimmers of him every day, for the rest of your lives. God Bless.
