Obituary

Joseph "Joe" Montenaro, age 90, passed away peacefully in the presence of his loving family on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at OSU Medical Center. A devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a decorated World War II veteran and
retired from The Ohio State University. He was an avid golfer and a lifetime member of AIGA. Loyal Buckeye fan and sports enthusiast. He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Helen (Moro) Montenaro; parents, Catarina and Guiseppi Montenaro; infant daughter, Anna Marie; brothers, Louis, Pat, Tony and Albert; and sisters, Grace (Martina), Angelina (Meske) and Mary (Monaco). Survived by daughter, Linda (Joe) Barlow of
Harrisburg, PA; sons, Joseph (Jenifer) Montenaro of Pittsburgh, PA and Ric (Mary) Montenaro of Columbus OH. He has seven wonderful grandchildren and 12 precious great-grandchildern. The family would like to offer a special thanks to the McGrath girls, Mary, Patty, Kay and Helen. Friends may call Friday, March 7, 2014, from 4-8 p.m., at THE JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 West Fifth Avenue. Funeral Mass 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 8, 2014, at Our Mother of Sorrows Chapel (within the grounds of St. Joseph Cemetery) 6440 S. High St., Lockbourne. Burial to follow, St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may contribute in memory of Joseph to the Wounded Warrior Project, POB 758517, Topeka, KS 66675. Condolences may be sent via www.johnquint.com. Procession to leave funeral home at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday.

I just happened to check the Quint website and was surprised to see Uncle Joe's picture. I am so sorry for your loss. I remember him well - mostly his laugh and smile. He was also so good to us. My prayers and thoughts are with you all. Love, Patricia
