Joseph "Joe" Montenaro, age 90, passed away peacefully in the presence of his loving family on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at OSU Medical Center. A devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a decorated World War II veteran and
retired from The Ohio State University. He was an avid golfer and a lifetime member of AIGA. Loyal Buckeye fan and sports enthusiast. He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Helen (Moro) Montenaro; parents, Catarina and Guiseppi Montenaro; infant daughter, Anna Marie; brothers, Louis, Pat, Tony and Albert; and sisters, Grace (Martina), Angelina (Meske) and Mary (Monaco). Survived by daughter, Linda (Joe) Barlow of
Harrisburg, PA; sons, Joseph (Jenifer) Montenaro of Pittsburgh, PA and Ric (Mary) Montenaro of Columbus OH. He has seven wonderful grandchildren and 12 precious great-grandchildern. The family would like to offer a special thanks to the McGrath girls, Mary, Patty, Kay and Helen. Funeral Mass 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 8, 2014, at Our Mother of Sorrows Chapel (within the grounds of St. Joseph Cemetery) 6440 S. High St., Lockbourne. Burial to follow, St. Joseph Cemetery.
