Obituary

Joseph Anthony Melfi, age 74, passed away on Tuesday December 28th, 2004 at home surrounded by family. A graduate of Linden McKinley High School(Class of 1948). He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War and retired from White Westinghouse after 25 years of dedicated service. He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph & Dorothy and brother Vincent A Melfi. Survived by his sons Dino & Joseph Melfi both of CA, sister-in-law Florence Melfi, nieces Susan(Eric)James, Cathy Melfi-Pratt and Mary(Ron)Roach, nephews Mike(Tammy)Melfi and Vince Melfi, great nieces and great nephews Jennifer, Candice, Angel, Ashley,Jessica, Emily, Kendra, Billy and Kyle. Also survived by numerous other relatives and friends. Friends may call Sunday January 2nd, 2005 at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 W. 5th Avenue, from 3:00-7:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM on Monday January 3rd, 2005 at Our Mother of Sorrows Chapel(within the St. Joseph Cemetery) 6440 S. High Street, Lockbourne, Ohio, Msgr. Romano Ciotola, Officiating. PROCESSION TO LEAVE FUNERAL HOME AT 10:30 AM. Interment will follow. Condolences may be sent via www.johnquint.com. The Melfi family would like to extend a sincere thanks and appreciation to all the staff at Mount Carmel Hospice for the wonderful care they gave to Joseph.

Iserved with Joe in the 623'rd field artillery battery B. I had a car at Fort Bragg and he went home with me several times along with Harold Poling,& Bill Nash.Also from Columbus was Ed Donaldson. I lived in North Lewisburg at the time.I'm very sorry to learn of his passing. He will be missed by those who he met in the service.
