Obituary

Joseph Guilio DePietro, age 82, passed away on Thursday December 16th, 2004 at home surrounded by his family. A graduate of Central High School(Class of 1940). Proudly served in the US Navy during World War ll. He was a self employed brick contractor for 45 years, worked for Ingersoll-Rand for 3 years, employed part time for both the City of Columbus and Bank One. He also volunteered at Riverside Methodist Hospital for 12 years. A member of St. Matthias Catholic Church, St. Clair AC, VFW Post 89, Amici D'Oro, SFI, Compo Club, Venice Club and Still Going Strong. He is preceded in death by Parents Guilio & Adelina, brothers O'Nelio and Serio DePietro, sister Sienna(Melvin)Thomas and brothers-in-law Frank DelCol and Joe Susi. Survived by his loving, devoted wife of 61 years Velma, children Ron(Marilyn)DePietro, Benita(George)Noethlich, grandchildren Julie Acrea, Ronda(Jarrod)Seel, Lisa(Bobby)Lynn, John(Sandi)DePietro, Mike De Pietro, Brian and Andrea Noethlich, 10 great grandchildren, sisters Mary Susi, Louise(Dante)Guzzo and Lena DelCol. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Friends may call Sunday December 19th, 2004 at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 W. 5th Avenue, from 4:00-8:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 4:00 PM and all Club Services at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 AM on Monday December 20th, 2004 at St. Matthias Catholic Church, 1582 Ferris Road, Columbus, Ohio, Rev. Fr. James T. Smith, Celebrant. Interment will follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery, 6440 South High Street, Lockbourne, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may contribute in memory of Joseph to the HomeReach Hospice of Columbus or the Ohio Health Foundation, 3724-G, Olentangy River Road, Columbus Ohio 43214. Please accept our condolences. Joe was a wonderful person and a dear friend of the Noethlich Family. He had that rare and enviable trait to light up the room and make everyone laugh and feel good in his presence. We will miss him but trust in God that his legacy will live on in his children and grandchildren.
