Obituary

Joseph "Joe" Ralph Cavarozzi, 83, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at Alter Care of Hilliard with his family by his side. He was born December 11, 1929 in Youngstown, OH to parents Raffaele and Ersilia Cavarozzi. Joseph was preceded in death by his father, Raffaele Cavarozzi; mother, Ersilia Cavarozzi; wife Constance Cavarozzi, sister, Rosemary Cavarozzi. Joseph is survived by his loving wife Jean A. Cavarozzi; Son Chris Cavarozzi (Karen) and Daughter Jane Cavarozzi (Kara Tripp); step-children, Kathy Fuhrman, Karen Hexter (Robert), Dewey Johnson (Alice), Steven Johnson (Vickie), Tracie Gasbarro, Rocky Gasbarro (Dena) and Vince Gasbarro; grandchildren, Makena Cavarozzi, Gianna Cavarozzi, Marco Cavarozzi; Shannon Hexter; John Huddy, Randy Huddy. Joseph graduated from Ohio University in 1952 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. Joseph was an Air Force veteran and served during the Korean War. Joseph worked as an architect and was involved in many notable projects throughout the Central Ohio area and was certified and worked in many other states. After being self-employed for 43 years Joe closed his office in Grandview Heights Ohio in December of 2011. Both friends and family will miss Joseph’s presence in their lives. Joseph was a loving husband and father and a loyal friend. Family will receive friends Friday, April 26, 2013, from 5-8 p.m. at THE JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 W. Fifth Avenue, Columbus, OH 43212. Family and friends are asked to gather for his funeral at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Our Mother of Sorrows Chapel (within the grounds of St. Joseph Cemetery), 6440 S. High Street, Lockbourne, OH. Burial to follow. Gifts may be made in lieu of flowers to WCBE 90.5, Joseph Cavarozzi Memorial Fund, 540 Jack Gibbs Blvd. Columbus OH 43215.
