Obituary
John S. Kourie, age 79 died Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at home. Retired from Hasbro Toy Corp. as Corporate Salesman Trainer and was District Sales Manager for Ideal Toy Corp. for over 20 years. He grew up in Columbus, attended Aquinas High School and The Ohio State University. He was a veteran of WWII, where he served for 2 1/2 years in Europe. He is preceded in death by his father Shafic, mother Catherine, and his brother Joseph Kourie. He is survived in life by his loving wife of 51 years, Donna Joan Stinemetz; children Debbie(Bruce) Lackey, Diane "DeeDee"(Clark) Howell, Dolores "Lolly" (Larry) Parson, Donald "D.J."(Wendy) Kourie, Doug Kourie, David Kourie(friend Tracy); grandchildren Jonathan, Stephaine and Vincent Lackey, Kristy and Michael(Christi) Thomas, Rachel Pound, Natalie and Schuyler Howell, Andy and Brittany Parson, Tyler and Cortney Kourie, Phillip, Nikki and Brandon Kourie; and daughter-in-law Julie Kourie; sisters-in-law Charlotte Kourie, and Peggy Stone(fiance Ed), brother-in-law Bill(Peggy) Greer and many beloved nieces, nephews and many great breakfast club friends. Friends may call on Thursday, May 26, 2005 from 4:00-8:00 PM with a prayer service at 4:00 PM at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 W. Fifth Avenue. Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00, Friday, May 27, 2005 at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1899 McCoy Road. Fr. Michael Watson, Celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery 6440 S. High St. Lockbourne, OH. In Lieu of flowers friends who wish may contribute in memory of John to St. Stephens Community House, 1500 E. 17th Ave. Columbus, OH or Hospice at Riverside 3595 Olentangy River Road, Columbus, Oh 43214.
