John Harry Kougendakis age 81, passed away on Thursday January 6th 2005 at Mount Carmel West Hospital. Preceded in death by his parents, Harry J. & Zabeta, brothers Gus and Melie and brother-in-law, Gus Perdicakis. Survived by his loving wife Sultana, children Harry(Rosemarie), John H. Jr.(Susan) and Lisa(Russell)Houck, Grandchildren Kristen,Katie,Alexis,Chelsea and Richard Houck, Great-Granddaughter Alexia, sisters Stella(Bill) Cakmis and Thelma Perdicakis as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call Friday January 7th 2005 at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME 1177 W. 5th Avenue, from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 PM with a Trisagion Service at 7:00 PM. Funeral Service will be held 10:00 AM, with viewing at the church one half hour prior to the service, on Saturday January 8th 2005, at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunication, 555 N. High St. with Fr. Michael Kontos officiating. Interment will follow at the Forest Lawn Cemetery 5600 East Broad St, Columbus, OH. Condolences may be sent via www.johnquint.com.

I was saddened to hear of his passing. He was my godfather. I last saw him at the interrment of my father, George Nicolozakes, this past May. He told me he was upset that he hadn't heard about my father's death sooner, because he missed the funeral, which was the day before. I was shocked to hear he died, since he seemed vigorous when I saw him eight months ago. My condolences go to to all of you. I am saddened I could not go to the funeral. I was in a car accident 5 days ago and suffered some injuries which prevent me from traveling. His soul rests in heaven now with both of my parents and a lot of other wonderful people. One day we will all be reunited.
