John Pete "Big John" Castorano, age 83, passed away on Wednesday February 23, 2011. Born June 28, 1927, in San Margherita, one of 11 children, to the late Tomasso & Guglielmina. John retired from Union Fork & Hoe Company after 46 years of dedicated service. A former member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, where he called Bingo for many years. John loved to be with his family and loved to baby sit his grandchildren. He looked forward to all of the Lenten fish frys. In retirement he was an avid walker at Westgate Park and he never knew a stranger. John is preceded in death by his brothers; James (Dorothea), Joseph, Anthony (Anna) and Robert "Mickey", sister, Mary (Dominic) Musille, brothers-in-law; Theodore Pagani, Severino Lombardi, sister-in-law Viola, and granddaughter, Andrea Castorano. John is survived by his children; Rose Marie (David) McKinney, John J. (Santina), Joyce Ann (Frank Gattas) Castorano and Rob J. Castorano, grandchildren; DJ (Kelley) McKinney, Christopher and Anthony Castorano, Whitney (Josh) Church, Natalie and Stephanie Cassady, Kristen (Justin Humphreys) Castorano, Nickolas Castorano, great grandchildren; Riley, Austin & Ella McKinney, Adalynn & Aubrie Church, sisters; Elsie Pagani, Lilda Lombardi, Betty (John) Ford, Anna Jean (Ted) Scott, brother Annio, sister-in-law Hilda, mother of his children, Lucy Eckstein(Olivieri) and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call SUNDAY February 27, 2011 at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 W. 5th Avenue, from 4:00-8:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 7:30 PM. Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 PM on MONDAY February 28 at St. Margaret of Cortona Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Sunset Cemetery.
