"Andy" as we called him was a driving force that helped us win the City Championship in 1957. It was indeed an honor and a great privilage to say that I knew him. I will always remember how he would scare you into doing it his way.Great guy!

Pat and family. Your loved one was truly a great person. He appeared tough on the outside, but you know how he really was. We will surely miss him.Jim was one of my best teachers. In fact, he won teacher of the year for the Columbus Public schools. He had a great mind. What a defensive mind.We enjoyed coaching together at Brookhaven.

Jim's passing has hit me very hard. Outside of your parents there are only a few people you meet in your life that have an influence on you as a person. Jim was one of those people for me. I have such fond memories of our past together, at Brookhaven, the Swim and Raquet Club and St. Charles. He was a giant of a man in so many ways as his family knows well. I will remember Jim the very rest of my life as a warm, driven, loving, humorous, deeply religious family man and the single person that I most tried to emulate. I mourn your loss but I see Jim as truly at the very front of God's line of truly great men.
With much love and sorrow, Steve

Please accept my sincere sympathy in the loss of your husband, father and grandfather. He was my chemistry teacher at North High School in 1956-57. What wonderful example and teacher. My father was the chemistry teacher at Linden McKinley and knew Jim well. Jim has left his mark on many of us former students.

Jim was more than just my broadcast partner. He was my friend. He was the most positive and enduring memory I've had in my broadcasting life. Jim told things as they were and did it in a way that was never perceived as a negative to the student athlete. He carried that same positive will into everything he did with his family. He included me in many things. He survived so many things and I never saw him complain. The last time I saw him, he was in his environment...watching his grandkids play high school football. I asked him how he felt and he said "I've had some rough days, but how can you not feel great on a night like this?"
That was Jim. He is missed, but he will never be gone. Look at all the people he touched. Thank you Jim.

My prayers are with Jim and his family and friends. These may be difficult times but you know that he lived a full and happy life. I know that you have spent many precious moments together - those will last forever. He obviously has a greater calling now - looking down on everyone and providing even more guidance than he did before. He is loved and will be missed very much.
