Ian Christopher Stewart Lynch, October 15, 1996 - July 23, 2010. Ian, the beloved son of Karen Machan Lynch of Victorian Village, and Christopher and Megan Lynch of Grandview Heights, died in Norfolk, VA on Friday. He was vacationing with his father's family on the Eastern Shore. Ian will be terribly missed by his brother, Christian; his grandmother, Eileen Machan Schley of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; his grandfather, Russell D. Machan of Port Clinton, OH and Del Ray Beach, FL. His grandparents, Wilford and Dale Lynch of Cheriton, VA, and Michael and Yvonne Overholt of Pittsburgh, PA. His great-grandparents, Richard and Carolyn Ward of Pittsburgh. His aunt, Dyan Machan and uncle, Johan de Meij, of New York, NY; his uncle, David Machan of No. Canton, OH; his uncle, William Machan, also of New York City. His aunt, Jennifer and uncle, Derek Weitzel and cousins, Reid and Olivia Weitzel, of Great Falls, VA. His aunt, Larissa and uncle, Michael Petrucci, and cousins, Michael and Lyla Petrucci of Pittsburgh; and uncle, Anthony Overholt also of Pittsburgh. His cousins, Kyle Berns and Lewis Berns of Ridgewood, N.J. Ian was a wonderfully kind and thoughtful young man with multiple gifts. He had an adoring younger brother, innumerable friends and was a part of a close-knit extended family on both his mother and father's sides. Ian was going into the eighth grade at Edison Middle School, in Grandview Heights. A natural athlete, Ian loved to run. He enjoyed track, baseball, basketball and was a proud member of the 2009 Middle School Bobcats soccer team that brought home the first season championship to Edison. He was also a high achieving student who showed great promise in many directions, and a talented trickster with an innate sense of fun. Memorial Service 1:00 PM with family receiving friends from 2:00-4:00 PM on Saturday, July 31 at JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 West 5th Avenue in Grandview. Ian's brother Christian requests people wear colorful clothes instead of black ones. A memorial fund has been established to cover medical and funeral expenses as well as to contribute to LifeNet Health, the organ transplant organization.
