Theresa, sending condolences on the death of your father. It's always hard to loose a parent. Do you remember me from elementary and middle school? I'm now a family practitioner who oversees your mother's medical needs at Sanctuary with Dr. Buddie. Are you still in the area?

Dear Aunt Dora, Theresa, Michael, Rick, Sharon, Nick, Nolan, Nathan and Matthew,

Uncle Mondy has left all of us with his gift of love, passion for life and his charisma which shines in each of you.

Uncle Mondy, all I can say is what a unique character. It seemed like he knew almost everyone, no matter where he would travel no one was a stranger, he always welcomed people with open arms, as they did him. His young at heart attitude drew people near him. He was always ready to have a good time.

Growing up our families were together quite a bit; we looked forward to being together no matter what we did, bowling, playing cards (Mom, wanted you to know that he loved to cheat), cooking and/or eating (our favorite pass time). I can’t explain the love our families had for each other; it was incredible. We were always there for each other.

My father, Uncle Mondy’s brother-in-law, had a wonderful relationship together. They bowled, played cards and golfed together. On occasion they would pull up their pants legs and fish out golf balls at the golf course; I’m sure that was a sight to see. They did have their moments fussing with each other, but few and far between. They really enjoyed each others company, they were a pair together. Their friendship and love for each other grew stronger over the years.

My mother, Uncle Mondy’s sister had a precious relationship with her brother. The respect and love the two had for each other always touched our hearts. With unspoken words and words they spoke to each other, this truly was a relationship to be cherished.

Mom and Dad remember when Aunt Dora and Uncle Mondy lived in Grandview they would come to visit Mom and Dad often, one night they were out on one of their night walks. They walked up the 30 steps on the hill to see Mom and Dad. Mom said “you are spending the night, Uncle Monday said “No we’re not spending the night we are going home, by the time the conversation ended Aunt Dora would already have her shoes off, and they would all spend the rest of the evening together. One of the best memories Mom and Dad have of Uncle Mondy was when he and Aunt Dora came to live with them for what was going to be a 2 or 3 month stay; it turned into 6 years, which Mom and Dad said were some of the best years they had together because they all got along so well, they loved being together.

We remember going to the Italian festival to watch Aunt Dora and Uncle Mondy sing, you know I still don’t know if he really was singing, I never did get him to tell me the truth. He would just smile and laugh.

Uncle Mondy’s energy was incredible, most people find it hard to hold down one job, not Uncle Mondy he worked one or two jobs even when he didn’t have too.

Uncle Mondy was so ornery, telling jokes and of course his tricks. He was so much fun to be around. He truly lived life to the fullest with his lighthearted humor. We rarely saw him frown, his laugh was contagious. We will remember the special place he always held in his heart for his family, faith and friends.

We loved and admired him greatly. We will miss him. Mary, Geno, Judy, Marylou, Louie, Vickie, Gary, Alex
