Dear Family and Friends of Gloria,
I extend to you my deepest sympathy at this time. I am a distant cousin of Gloria's ( my grandmother was Herman Erwin's sister) and I graduated with Gloria from PHS. We shared many fun times, especially in our juniro high years. I was unaware until just recently of Gloria's past fight with lukemia. Another distant cousin, granddaughter to Pauline Erin informed me of Gloria's passing.
Gloria is remembered by many and we share in your loss and sorrow.

I cannot forget a picture of Gloria I have in my head of her sitting in the hall just outside of the ballroom at Mesha and Jeff's wedding just sort of taking it all in with a sort of Mona Lisa smile that left me wondering just what she knew that the rest of us did not. I am comforted in my belief that she had the chance to see life and it's most precious gifts from a place and a perspective that most of us never get to and knew that everthing inportant to her was right there in front of her. I really believe that she suceeded in grabbing more love and life out of her too short time with us than most of us ever will. Chris, you made us promise to keep on smiling and our many precious memories of our "Gloie Girl" make that an easy promise to keep.

Barbara and I wanted to say something about how we feel, though we know that any words will not match the sorrow we have all experienced nor can words give good account for the joy we’ve experienced by knowing Gloria. I sat down this morning and listened to Van Morrison singing G-L-O-R-I-A. I cried and smiled, cried and smiled again. Perhaps it’s enough to just say, ȁCShe was special.ȁD And we know that she was. No one that I’ve known deserved the name ȁCGloȁD more than Gloria. A writer friend of mine wrote this about his wife: ȁCWhen you leave a room you empty it.ȁD So it was with Gloria. Her good humor and love of life was contagious. Her smile lit up her face, and that smile made us glow. When she left a room, so much of the light went with her, but keeping our memories of her alive in our hearts sustains us, will help us through dark times. We’ll never forget her nor take for granted our good fortune in having known her.

I had taken earlier this week off from work for school related finals and presentations. Upon my return to work, it deeply and greatly saddened me to learn that Gloria had passed. She was a special lady...one I was ever so happy to meet and share stories with. She always came to the clinic with a smile, a smile to be remembered. Hold strong to her memory, she was a great lady. I am so sorry. Gloria will always be a big part of our lives. You are in so many of our family videos. You were part of our family. Glo was a shoulder for me to cry on as I became a new wife and mother at a late age, and you all brought a party atmosphere into our otherwise stressfull lives.
