Obituary

Frank D. Nobile, Sr., age 84, of Columbus, passed away October 17, 2003 in St. Ann's Hospital. He was born July 31, 1919 in Columbus, Ohio, the son of Antonio and Filomena Nobile. He retired from the Jaeger Machine Company after 40 years of dedicated service. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Italian Catholic Church and an avid golfer until his health no longer allowed him to play. He also loved to work on engines, and could fix anything that was broken. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Virgina Lee (Cosner) Nobile, daughter Marsha Nobile, parents, and sisters, Mary, Rose, Irene, and Augustina, and brothers Romolo, Dominic, Afonzina, and Anton. He is survived by his children: Carol (Vernon) Ashbrook, Sharon (John) Galvin, Frank (Barbara) Nobile, Jr. , brother Louis, sister, Edith, special friend Joanne Abram, 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Family will receive friends on Sunday, October 19, 2003 at the John Quint & Sons Funeral Home, 1177 West Fifth Avenue, from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 pm with a Prayer Service at 4:00 p.m.. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 20, 2003 at the St. John the Baptist Italian Catholic Church, 720 Hamlet Street, Rev. Fr. William A. Metzger, Celebrant.
