Obituary

Frank Joseph Milano, 87, formerly of Columbus, passed away Saturday afternoon, June 21, 2008, at his son’s house in Lexington, Ohio, after a long illness. He was born August 30, 1920, in Columbus, Ohio to Domenico and Lucia Milano. Frank was in the U.S. Navy during WWII and a member of the Amvets. Frank worked as a tool and dye maker for General Motors Corporation for 38 years and was a member of U.A.W. Local 969. Frank was a loving brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend who will be sadly missed by all. Surviving are two sisters, Laura Salamony and Georgia Duerr, four children, Rosemary(Sam)Robb of Columbus, Joanne(Lor Andahazy)Milano of Walnut Creek, CA, John(Kathy)Milano of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and Dominic(Tomasina)Milano of Lexington Ohio; Two grandchildren, John(Julie)Traini and Goelena Milano; and three great grandchildren, Derek, Nathan and Anna Traini. Many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Frank was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Yola Marie Milano(Ventresca), to whom he married on March 13, 1943; two brothers, Richard and Tony Milano. Friends may call WEDNESDAY, June 25th 2008 at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 W. 5th Avenue, from 4:00-8:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 7:30 PM. Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 AM on THURSDAY, June 26th 2008 at St. John the Baptist Italian Catholic Church, 720 Hamlet Street, Rev. Fr. William A. Metzger, Presider. Interment will follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery, 6440 South High Street, Lockbourne, Ohio. Following the burial, the family will receive relatives and friends. The location will be announced at graveside. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may contribute in memory of Frank to Med Central Homecare & Hospice, 335 Glassner Avenue, Mansfield, Ohio 44903.
