Obituary

Fannie R. Souder, age 90, went home to the Lord on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at St. Ann's hospital after a short illness. She was born in Columbus on November 14, 1919. Fannie worked on airplanes during WWII, for a shoe manufacturing company, and as a cook at Geno's Pizza in North Linden for many years. She made sandwiches for the homeless with the St. Vincent DePaul Society well into her 80's. Fannie was loved by many including her family at St. James the Less Catholic Church, wonderful neighbors and many special friends. She was cared for by the hands of Jesus through all her devoted caregivers who made her final months peaceful and comfortable. She is preceded in death by parents Nicola and Luisa Ventresca, husband of 48 years, Ross Souder, sons David and Ken, brother Eddie and sister Ella. Survived by her loving daughter Mary, granddaughter Stephanie (Ed) Martin and great grandsons Eddie and Andrew, all of Ft. Myers, Florida. Also survived by sister Nellie, daughter-in-law Linda, granddaughters Laura (John) Pellior, Lindsay (Steven) Slyh, great grandchildren Lily and Johnny Pellior and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Friends may call SUNDAY, February 14, 2010 at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 W. 5th Avenue, from 4:00-8:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 7:30 PM. Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 AM on MONDAY, February 15, 2010 at St. James the Less Catholic Church, 1652 Oakland Park Avenue, Columbus, Ohio Rev. Fr. Scott Kramer, Presider. FRIENDS ARE ASKED TO MEET AT CHURCH. Entombment will follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum, 6440 S. High Street, Lockbourne, Ohio.
