Obituary

Ernest J. Savarise, age 72, a resident of Columbus, OH, died on August 11, 2007, following a long battle with COPD. He was born December 25, 1934, the son of Philip and Anna (Lombardi) Savarise, in Ashtabula, OH, where he resided most of his life, moving to Columbus in 2000. On June 6, 1959, he married Sara (Sally) Muoio in New Brighton, PA. Mr. Savarise retired in 1998 from the Ohio Department of Highway Safety as the Drivers Examiner of Ashtabula County. He was a former member of St. Joseph Church and BPOE in Ashtabula. He was currently a member of St. Brendan Parish, Hilliard. He enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians and Browns, and he especially enjoyed spending time with this family and his grandson. He is survived by his wife; his son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and and Rene' Savarise of Louisville, KY; daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Bob Monnin, Hilliard; his grandson, Sam Monnin; brother and sister-in-law, Phil and Bea Savarise; sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and Joe Massi; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bob and Linda Rich; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Friends may call 12-2 p.m., TUESDAY at ST. BRENDAN THE NAVIGATOR CHURCH, 4475 Dublin Road, with his Funeral Mass to follow at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Fr. Rodric J. DiPietro, Presider. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Brendan Church (envelopes available at the Church). Condolences may be sent via www.johnquint.com.

I was so sorry to hear of Ernie's death. I remember fondly his visits and can still hear his laugh!! He was a great neighbor to grow up next to. Always there to help a kid out. Making pickles in the kitchen. Fixing a sump pump. Borrowing the whellbarrow. Sooo many memories. Please know that my prayers are with you.

Sally, I tried to get a letter to you on the Treboni Website Monday
night , but it never got thru. We wanted to tell you how shocked we
were when we saw the Star Beacon and found that our dear friend Ernie
had passed away.

I don't have to tell you how much we both thought of him and we
will miss him greatly. I will remember the days when we were both
single and would meet late in the evening and cruise the area and
have a late night snack together. And then he married that sweet
little girl from Pennsylvania and moved into the house on Bunker Hill
Rd, and I delivered mail to you guys every day. Always loved to stop
and chat with both of you .

Ah the good old days. !!

But Sally, Jeff and Angela , we are sorry we could not make the
funeral Tuesday morning , but please know that you were in our
thoughts and prayers and will continue to be.
