Dear Cassidy,

When you were very little, I was your teacher at Children's World. I wanted to tell you that I am so sorry that you have lost your Mommy. I know that she loved you very much!

You don't know me, but I met Erica at Chase. I remember her being very kind to me and quick to offer a smile as we passed in the aisles. We didn't know each other well, but I was touched by her persistence to battle her illness and keep going as if nothing was wrong. Years ago when I knew her, she came to work even when she was going through chemo, and we all knew she didn't feel well, but she never complained and always put on a brave front, somehow mustering the strength to get through another day. Later on, she was better and we all let out a collective sigh of relief. I left the company and didn't keep up with her and when I found out that she had passed away, I didn't even know she had been sick again. My heart is breaking for you and I want you to know that Erica inspired me and many other people and will be greatly missed. Take comfort knowing that she is pain-free now and in a better place smiling down on you with her twinkling eyes.

I only know Erica through my daughter Keelie Klostermeier. She admired and thought highly of Erica while working with her at Chase. Keelie always said from the time she met Erica that she was her inspiration on life and living. I know she will continue to be that for Keelie.
