Elmer Vance Huiss Jr., age 79, was met by Angels, on Thursday, September 1st, 2005 at Kobacker House. A U.S. Army Veteran, and retired from the United States Postal Service, Elmer was a wonderful husband, devoted father and grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He excelled in everything he did, mainly cooking/baking, handy work and dancing. Elmer enjoyed being outside, The Ohio State Buckeyes and watching golf. He is preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Dolly, infant son Joseph, sister-in-law Mary Huiss, brothers-in-law Robert Lott and Joseph A. Gualtieri. Survived by loving wife of 43 years Ann Huiss (Gualtieri), children Joseph Anthony, Elmer "Moe"(Rachel), Sherri Lynn Finelli and Michael P. (Heidi) Huiss; grandchildren Jacob Scarpitti, Dylan, Madison and Natalie Huiss, Jillian and Joseph Finelli, Joshua, Ryan, Mitchell and Alexander Huiss, brother Paul(Carol), Robert of Jacksonville, FL sister Pauline Lott, sisters and brothers-in-law Louis(Mary Ann) Riccardi, Gabriel(Rose) Vanik, Charlie(Jean) Varda, and numerous special nieces and nephews. Friends may call Monday, September 5th, 2005 at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 W. 5th Avenue, from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 with a prayer service at 7:30PM. Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 6th, 2005 at St. Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church 4475 Dublin Rd, Hilliard, Ohio. Interment will follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery 6440 South High Street, Lockbourne, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may contribute in memory of Elmer to the Grant/Riverside Methodist Hospitals Foundation, 3724 Olentangy River Rd. STE G, Columbus, OH 43214.
