Obituary

Donald Paul Crites, age 80, of Hilliard, died on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at home. He is preceded in death by his son-in-law, Larry Workman; brothers, James, Charles, Robert and Milton; sisters, Geraldine and Mary; parents, Mary Margaret and Earl Crites. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Betty Crites; daughters, Brenda Workman and Lisa Davison; son, Michael (Sue) Crites; grandchildren, Tony (Renee) Blasko, Jennifer (Mike) Driscoll, Abby, Tyler and Owen Davison; great-grandson, Gus Blasko; brother, Danny Crites and sisters, Helen and Julia, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Don was the ninth of ten children and attended Holy Family School. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War and married Betty three years after his service ended. Don worked for General Electric for 28 years and retired in 1995. Don was a loyal Buckeye fan and enjoyed golfing and jogging. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and fierce card playing! Don loved his family and they loved him. He will be greatly missed. Friends may call Tuesday, January 14, 2014 from 5-7 p.m., at THE JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 West Fifth Avenue, Columbus. Funeral Mass 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 588 W. Broad St., Columbus. Entombment to follow, St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum, Lockbourne. Friends and family are asked to gather at the Church for his funeral Mass.
