Obituary

Dolores F. Trost age 89 of Grandview Heights, Ohio passed away peacefully on November 28, 2025. Dottie was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church and in her active years enjoyed traveling, the Grandview Senior Center, genealogy research, and exploring local parks with family and friends. Dottie was born September 20, 1936 in Minster, Ohio to the late Bernard and Louise (Hoff) Boecker. She grew up on the family farm with one brother and six sisters. She was Valedictorian of her class at Minster High School and was an avid softball player. Dottie enjoyed working at Minster Machine and in 1961 married Nick Trost, who preceded her in death in 2008. Dottie is survived by her children, Beth (Keith) Benner, Jennifer (Bill) Grawe, Kirk (Susan) Trost, and Erika (Steven) Blausey; grandchildren, Zach Pinney, Will and Curt Grawe, Daniel, Ryan (Sophia), and Jenna Trost; and Nick and Lauren Blausey; sisters, Marcie Curtis and Jane (Wayne) Au; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her brother, Benard Boecker, and sisters, Mary Bailey, Virginia Rosenbeck, Patricia Stewart, and Rita Blommel preceded her in death. Dottie will be remembered for her kindness, quick wit and sense of humor, her devotion to her family and the Catholic Faith, and the calm presence she offered to all who knew her. Family will receive friends on Friday, December 5, 2025 at the John Quint Treboni Funeral Home 1177 W 5th Avenue Columbus, Ohio 43212 from 4-7 pm. A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at St. Christopher Catholic Church 1420 Grandview Ave Columbus, Ohio 43212 at 10 am. A procession to St. Joseph Cemetery, 6440 S. High Street Lockbourne, Ohio 43137 for interment will follow the Service.
