Christopher Eon Scott, lovingly known as Chris, passed away on June 22, 2025, at the age of 60 in his hometown of Columbus, Ohio. Chris was the kind of person who lit up every room he walked into. A true comedian at heart, he had an unmatched ability to make people laugh and feel at home in his presence. He was the life of the party, but more importantly, he was the heart of his family. Chris dedicated 32 years of service to the Columbus Water Department, where his work ethic and good humor earned him the respect and friendship of many. Outside of work, he gave his time and energy to the things he loved most: coaching youth soccer, tending to his garden, exploring new places through travel, rocking out at concerts, and cheering on his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes. Above all else, Chris was a devoted family man. He is survived by his loving spouse, Cheri Hughes; his daughter, Brianne Hughes; his son-in-law, Connor Gall; and his cherished granddaughter, Charlotte "Charlie" Gall. He also leaves behind his brothers, Shawn Scott and Kevin Scott; sisters-in-law Nancy Cameron, Kathy Scott, Kelli Fulk, and Kim Hughes; his brother-in-law Sam Hughes; his nieces, Brianna Quick, Samantha Hughes, and Emma Fulk; and nephews, Gabriel Scott, Sean-Michael Scott, Ben Fulk and Andy Fulk. Chris was preceded in death by his parents, Diane and Harold Scott. To honor his life and memory, a celebration of life will be held at Byrnes Pub (1248 W 5th Ave. Columbus, Ohio 43212) on July 9, 2025, from 4-7 pm. All who knew and loved Chris are welcome to attend and share in the laughter, stories, and joy he brought to so many. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten- his spirit will live on in every joke, every Buckeye game, and every memory made with love.
