Charles R. "Pops" Heaton, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 with his dedicated family by his side. Chuck was born on August 4, 1924 in Webb City, Missouri. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Angelina Magnacca Heaton, son-in-law Donald Bowers and granddaughter Teri Chesson Bowers. He was founder & owner of the former Giovanni's Restaurant located in Grandview. As an excellent chef, he mentored many young chef apprentices and was well known for his culinary excellence across central Ohio. He proudly served his country tn the US Air Force as a fighter pilot in WWII. He was an avid bowler and golfer. He truly enjoyed spending many hours watching his great grandchildren participate in their favorite sports and activities. He was a devoted and caring, husband, father, "PaPa" and great "PaPa" He is survived by his beloved children; Elvira Bowers, Mary Lou (Nicholas) Melaragno and John (Sharon) Magnacca; grandchildren Donald Steven Bowers, Lisa (Dan) March, Michele (Robert) Bergamesca; Michael (Sue) Melaragno; Christian (Caitlin) Magnacca; grandchildren; Anthony, Christopher and Joseph Bergamesca; Nicholas and Jonathan March; Andrew, Sarah and Emily Melaragno and Gianna Magnacca. Also niece Adrienne Cenci and great niece Colleen Houston. His camaraderie and great sense of humor will be missed by his entire family and close friends. The family would like to express special thanks and grateful appreciation to all the staff at Mayfair Village for the care provided during his last days. Friends may call SUNDAY October 24, 2010 at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE, 1177 W 5th Ave, from 4:00-8:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 7:45pm. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on MONDAY October 25 at Our Lady of Victory Church, Rev. Msgr. Romano Ciotola, Presider. FRIENDS ARE ASKED TO MEET AT CHURCH.
