Obituary

Carol A. (Benedetto) Koch, age 73 of Columbus, Ohio passed away on September 8, 2025 at the Dublin Methodist Hosoital. Carol was born on April 2, 1952 to Anthony and Mary (Ricci) Benedetto. Carol was a kind, loving person, and a dear beloved friend. She always thought about others before herself, and without question stepped up as caretaker for friends and family in time of need. She loved animals and was always charitable, donating to the humane society. She also donated frequently to cancer foundations for children. She was a very unique soul, and was unabashedly her authentic self. She loved spending time with her family and going on adventures with her wonderful friends. She had a distinct sense of humor and way about her that disarmed and charmed everyone, and she instilled that in her son through her affinity for comedy and laughter. Carol lived her entire in life in Columbus, Ohio and was for a time married to Henry E. Koch. Everyone that knew Carol loved her unconditionally, and she returned that love ten-fold. She will be dearly missed by her family, her friends, and her adopted son, David, to whom she will always share a special bond. Carol is survived by her son, David Koch; and her brother, Nick Benedetto; along with many extended family and cousins. There will be a visitation on Tuesday September 16, 2025 at the John Quint Treboni Funeral Home 1177 W 5th Avenue Columbus, Ohio 43212 from 11 am - 1 pm. A Celebration of Life Service will begin promptly at 1 pm with Celebrant Father Vincent Nguyen. A procession to St. Joseph Cemetery 6440 S High Street Lockbourne, Ohio 43137 will follow the Celebration of Life Service.

Kenny & I are so very sorry about Carol's passing. She was my favorite #1 cousin๐Ÿ’•. She was in my wedding when she was 16 and I was 18, then I helped her get dressed at her wedding to Henry, so we go way back. I prayed and prayed for God to heal her body but He wanted her in Heaven back with her Mom & Dad, Aunt Maggie, Uncle Al, and Aunt Edith. I will forever remember her beautiful smile & laugh, and she will always be in my heart because I loved her so. May all the memories that Carol let us comfort us until we see her again in Heaven. Take care & God's blessings to you both.

I worked with Carol for many years at Battelle. Toots was loved by so many and she had special names for all her friends. I'm sorry I did not get to see her before she passed away. Rest in peace ... she's joined other Battelle friends, such as Mr. Bill. Love and prayers to her family.
