So sad about losing the last of the original Trabue Rd Castorano brothers. It is the end of a generation. Happy that he enjoyed a long life and went peacefully in his sleep to join God and his wife, daughter, parents, brothers, sister, and friends.

I have always been proud to say Annio was my uncle and Godfather. His truly loving and kind soul could not have made him a better choice. I am very blessed to have been related to such a generous man. He will always have a special place in my heart. I will miss him.

We built our house across the street from Annio’s in 1986. We’ll never forget his finely manicured lawn! He spent hours working on it and positively beamed when the Golfview Woods Lawn of the Week sign was in his yard. We heard he actually raked the gravel from his lot before they placed the sod! Of course, our children had strict instructions not to walk on it. :)

He sat out in his garage and harrumphed at all the neighborhood kids as they went up and down the court (to get their attention). He pretended gruffness but enjoyed it when they made their way up his driveway and stopped to visit.

Annio razzed John every time he came home early or took a vacation day from his job at GM saying that he needed John to continue to work to pay for his retirement from GM! Happy that he had a long retirement.

Our sympathies to your family.

I spent many happy days at your mom and dads on N.Oakley. Think about all of them and the good times we shared when I was growing up. Annio always called me Ruth Ann. I can still hear the bell ringing calling me and Kathy home from the creek. He always took pride in his home and family. I'm sure Viola and Kathy were there to greet him.
