Brenda,
I worked with Alex in the late seventies at Community Action. Alex and I shared the attic floor offices for the Housing Rehab. He was a great friend and mentor to me right out of college. I moved away from Ohio for 17 years. The first week back I ran into Alex at Kroger in Portsmouth. We had not seen each other in more than 20 years. We talked and laughed about the good old days in the attic. He spoke fondly of you when he told me the two of you had been married for 20 years and were living in Columbus. I was grieved to hear of his passing and send my condolences and prayers to you and the family at this time.
God Bless.

So very sorry to hear the news of our Alex. I have the fondest memories of our working together and the funny stories that he, Dan Saez and I shared. Dan &I reminised for awhile the other evening and laughed at some of the antics we did at the city! Dan loved Alex so very much and his passing will leave a void in his life. Again, my deepest condolences.

Dearest Brenda, I was shocked and gravely saddened by this tragic news of Alek's passing. All of my family (Frowines) were at the beach when this happened. Mother called me when we had gotten back in town to say that she was glancing through the obituaries from the papers while she was gone and when she came upon Alek's. She called me immediately with this horrible news, and I then called Andrew right away to convey the same. My family is shocked and in disbelief with this news. Had he been ill? Was this sudden? Brenda, I'm SO SORRY for the pain that you are going through right now. I'm sorry that I have not been in closer touch with you in recent years. You called it seems like a year ago, but it could have been more! - and gave me your address in Grandview with phone numbers at that time. I have called all of the numbers (home and work) that you gave me with no luck in reaching you. I have decided to write through the email given in Alex's obituary.
I treasure our friendship deeply and hold so fondly my memories and time spent with you and Alex. He was such a wonderful man. I feel so lucky to have known him, and mourn the loss of a truly wonderful human being. I always looked at you two as true soul mates - a match that most people go a lifetime seeking but never find. He was truly your match, and I hope that one day the immense pain you must be feeling right now will be replaced with the feeling of fortune to have had him in your life all of those 25 years together.
Please call me or write me. I would love to talk to you and reminisce as well as grieve together.
Thinking of you so so much, and sharing your grief in his loss.
Much love, Julie
