Cousin Joe from New Jersey was the first to alert us about Mary Jo's death via Facebook (It is good for somethings!). So it is with genuine sorrow that I send along these heartfelt expressions of consolation and commiseration to her surviving family members and friends.
The only real contact I had with her were some written communications and, if memory serves, a telephone conversation sometime around the publication of her novel. I only wish that I had known her better since we shared an interest in jurisprudence, writing, and all things Catholic. May Christ receive her soul in His mercy and may she behold Him now face to face and hear the words of The Word: "Veni, electa mea et ponam in te thronum meum"[ Come, my chosen one, and I will place my throne within thee].
Leonard Wood Grotenrath.
