Obituary

Hugo Della Flora, age 90, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Kobacker House with his family by his side. He is preceded in death by his parents, Guido and Albina (Meneguzzi) Della Flora and his brother, Anthony. He is survived by his wife, Janice; sons, Anthony, Thomas, Daniel (Susan), Joseph (Mary) and John (Cathy); daughter, Ann (Marty) Gilan; grandchildren, Teo, Evan, Michael, Vincent, Danielle, Angela, Maria, Alex, Michelangelo, Christian and Julia. A founding member of St. Timothy Parish, Hugo was an active member of the parish Men's Club and ran the parish golf outing for 35 years. He was also a member of the Guild Athletic Club, a self employed cement contractor and later in life, a limousine and funeral coach driver for Capitol Support Services. Above all, he truly was a Notre Dame fan! His family will receive friends on Friday, April 17, 2015, from 4-7 p.m., at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 West Fifth Avenue, Columbus (with a Prayer Service at 4:00 p.m., and a GAC Service at 6:00 p.m.). Everyone is asked to gather at St. Timothy Catholic Church, 1088 Thomas Lane, Columbus (43220), for his funeral Mass on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. Entombment to follow, St. Joseph Cemetery, Lockbourne. Donations in his name preferred to the St. Timothy Men's Club. Condolences may be sent via www.johnquint.com.

I am very saddened to hear of the passing of Hugo. I have some very fond memories of Hugo and most certainly cherish those memories. Each and every time I came in contact with Hugo he was gracious, engaging and very fun to be around. He sure loved his family and from my seat really enjoyed chatting with all of the friends that he met due to his kids introducing him to all of them. I wish much strength to the Della Flora family and am certain the Good Lord will accept Hugo with open arms. I am glad I had an opportunity to spend some time with him over the years. A good man indeed!
