Obituary

John J. Pusateri, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, with his family by his side. John was a member of St. Matthias Parish and served as Grand Knight (serving seven terms) of the Knights of Columbus Assumption Council #3727. He was awarded the Bronze Star while serving in the Navy during World War II; he was also a member of V.F.W. Post #1598, The Catholic War Veterans, Greater Columbus Post 1936, and retired from Ace Beverage. He is preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Josephine (Wolande) Pusateri. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ada (Fregonas) Pusateri; children, Maria, Joe (Deb), Steve (Nancy) and Alisa Pusateri; grandchildren, Lori (James) Jones, Tim Dardinger, Gina, Scott and Karen Pusateri; great-grandchildren, Indiana Jones and Noah Pusateri; brother, Anthony; and sister-in-law, Mary Fregonas. Friends may call Sunday, June 29, 2014, from 4-8 p.m., at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 W. Fifth Avenue, Columbus. Funeral Mass 10:00 a.m., on Monday, June 30, 2014, at St. Matthias Catholic Church, 1582 Ferris Road (at Karl), Columbus, with Rev. Fr. Raymond Larussa as the Presider and Rev. Msgr. Anthony N. Missimi as the Concelebrant. Burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Lockbourne. The family wishes to thank Riverside Methodist Hospital and the nursing staff in the I.C.U. 5th Floor, with a sincere thank you to Dr. Suh for his kindness.
