Obituary

Juanita Ruth (Dearth) Clemens, age 85, of Columbus, OH, went home on April 14, 2014, after a long and courageous battle with myasthenia gravis. Ruth was born at her childhood home in Prattsville, Vinton County, Ohio, on October 24,1928, to Harry Forrest and Bernice Marie (Coe) Dearth. Ruth was a 1946 graduate of McArthur High School. She was married to Robert Renner Clemens who preceded her in death. Above all else, Ruth was dedicated to her family. She was there for us at every turn and that will never be forgotten. She loved family gatherings, celebrations and reunions. She especially enjoyed her high school alumni gatherings, sharing memories and stories with her classmates. Ruth also enjoyed cooking and trying new recipes, bird watching, and the Ohio State Buckeyes. Ruth is preceded in death by her son, David Lee Clemens; great-grandson, David Robert Owen Boham; brother, Ralph Owen Dearth; sisters, Baby Girl Dearth, Bette Rouge and Barbara Dee; son-in-law, John S. Roumeliote; and brother-in-law Norbert Henslee. Ruth leaves to cherish her memory her children, Ruthann (Andrew) Litsinberger, Robert (Deborah) Clemens and Mark (Tammy) Clemens; grandchildren, Nicole (Peter) Roumeliote, Deirdre Roumeliote, Jonathon Clemens, and Briana Clemens; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, John, Scottie, and Isaac. She is also survived by her siblings, Donald Dearth, Coe (Donna) Dearth, Marilyn Dearth, Dale (Waneta) Dearth, Neil (Joan) Dearth, Ilene Henslee, Ann (Richard) Hurd, Cliff (Helen) Dearth; and sister-in law, Karen Dearth. Family friend, Jerry Wurster and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Special thanks to staff of Westminster Thurber and Senior Independence Hospice. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2014 from 3-6 p.m., at THE JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 West Fifth Avenue, Columbus, concluding with a Remembrance Service at 6:00 p.m. Private Interment. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to the Columbus Zoological Society or Columbus Audubon Society in her memory. Condolences may be sent via www.johnquint.com.

My family sympathy to you all. Frances and Juanita were good for each other and I am glad to have had the priviledge of knowing Juanita and being her friend and helped her at time when she needed a helping hand. Juanita was always happy and was a good example for me to have a better attitude for life. Thanks Juanita for pleasant memories of you to cherish when I was there at WTC visiting my Mom.

I am so sorry I cannot be there in person. I very much wish I could be by your side and you say your goodbyes to Nanny. She was such an amazing lady and I am so happy you had her in your life. I'm sure she appreciated all you did for her and you can treasure the time you spent with her. Love you very much!
