Obituary

With grace and great faith, Maria Teresa DeMotillo Moseley, a long-time resident of the Columbus area, died Sunday, June 28, 2015. Although preceded in death by her true love and only partner, Victor Conway Moseley, together they leave a legacy of love, integrity and gratitude. Born December 7, 1927 in Columbus, Ohio Mary was the first woman Mortgage Loan Officer of Guarantee Title and Trust Company. She also served at the pleasure of Senator John Glenn as Staff Assistant and special advocate for Medicare citizens. As a political activist for the less fortunate, the underprivileged, and the daughter of an Italian American immigrant, she was always a champion of the working class. As an avid reader and a life-long learner, fluent in Italian and Spanish, she prayed for the hurting human soul and all those who disparately seek God's love.
Mary, a faithful patron of the Broadway theatre, loved her music and was a forever fan of Dean Martin, Jerry Vale, as well as Strauss' Tales from the Vienna Woods Waltz , As a formidable Italian cook, she hosted many exquisite dinner parties at home with family and friends. With her keen sense of humor, sharp wit, and intellectual banter, she could easily win an argument with little effort, charm her opponent and leave with the last word. She is survived by her son Mark Moseley and daughter-in-law, Linda Storts Moseley daughter Truey Moseley Mackaman and son-in-law James Mackaman, and daughter, Dawn Marie Moseley, grandchildren; Keane and Molly Mackaman, Rachel Moseley, and Nicole Moseley Rogerson. She is also a proud great-grand mother of McClaren, Phaylen and Kiefer Rogerson and is thankful for her dearest friends Barbara and Carol Maclvor. She is also survived by younger sister, Helen DeMotillo Maiberger and brother, David Anthony DeMotillo and his wife Connie. Memorial gifts may be made to Faith Mission or Mid-Ohio Food Bank, in Columbus, Ohio. As an animal lover, Lucca and Grade, her 4-paw visitors always made her smile and she encourages donations to the local animal shelter. As the family celebrates her life, friends will be received on Monday, July 6, 2015 from 5-8 p.m., at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 West 5th Avenue, Columbus, where her funeral will be Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. Burial, St. Joseph Cemetery. As the family celebrates her life, now together with Vic their journey continues and you are cordially invited to share their dance to the The Last Waltz.

Knowing that you're everywhere helps, but especially in my heart. I'm so thankful I got to spend this past Christmas Eve with you, (like I did growing up) seeing you on my Spring break, but especially our last conversation on Mothers Day, when you said that you were proud of me & I would always be your baby doll, your sweet Rachel. You told me you were ready for God to take you home & you would watch over me with Pop Pop. Many memories, influences & lessons have been flooding my mind & heart the past 24 hours that I'm eternally grateful for: you being a strong, intelligent women, your convictions with religion/spirituality/arts/humanities & politics, passing down the Italian family tradition (not just history & language, but also the authentic food), & especially your great story telling & advice.Your energy always left me feeling lifted each time I was with you. I can feel your energy even now & I know when I need you I can just pray & you'll be there. I will continue to make you proud & carry on all of these things with me. I love you Nini! ❤%uFE0F%uD83D%uDE4F%uD83C%uDFFD❤%uFE0F

Dear Dawn, Truey and Mark,
Bill and I are so saddened to hear of Aunt Mary's passing. I have such wonderful memories of Aunt Mary but my favorite is how she and I would watch General Hospital everyday and then as soon as it was over we would call each other and talk about what had just happened. It was always so much fun to share that with her. I know she is with Uncle Vic--the love of her life and they will be together in God's Kingdom forever. I also have no doubt she and dad have already chatted with each other! Aunt Mary will be truly missed and Bill and I have all of you in our thoughts and prayers. God Bless all of you.

Love,
Mary Louise and Bill Sharp
