Obituary

Lucy Ann Marie Salamony, OCDS, age 63, entered Eternal life on Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at Kobacker House. Lucy, a 1970 graduate of St. Francis de Sales High School, was a professional florist who managed many floral shops in the Columbus area and won several Best of Show entries with floral arrangements at the Ohio State Fair. She truly loved the beauty of flowers and nature. She entered the Discalced Carmelite Order, Third Order Religious on September 11, 2001, taking her vows final vows on May 13, 2008 at the Shrine of St. Therese. God and her vowed life and her family was always first. She was noted as saying, "What you do with the blessings and gifts God has given you is what really matters." She enjoyed serving, giving and making people know they were loved and cared for. She is preceded in death by her parents, Michael "Kelly" and Laura Ann (Milano) Salamony. She is survived by her sisters, Rosemary (Dan, Jr.) Grassbaugh and Annette (Michael) Lanza; nieces and nephews, Maria (Kyle) Kridler, Gina (Brian) Williams, Angela (Mike Dodge) Lanza and Daniel and Andrea Grassbaugh; and great-niece, Eva Williams. Her family will receive friends on Friday, July 22, 20016, from 4-7 p.m., at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 W. 5th Avenue, Columbus. Friends and family are asked to gather at St. Matthias Catholic Church, 1582 Ferris Road on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 10:00 for her funeral Mass. Reverend Monsignor Anthony Missimi, Presider. Burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Lockbourne. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to Ohio Health Foundation/Kobacker House, POB 600001, Columbus, Ohio 43272. The family wishes to extend a special note of thanks to Sister Marie Shields, SNDdeN, who was an angel on earth to them; also, many thanks to those who took part in caring for Lucy during her illness.
