| Joe was a good friend back in our Mutual Ohio Wing Civil Air Patrol days. He was fun, quirky and a true original. He is gone too soon and we will miss him. |

Colonel Joe, we're going to miss you.
You were an advocate for CAP cadets.
A fixture at most every Cadet Conference, Cadet Encampment, and Cadet activity.
You were also a good friend and someone I'll miss. |

I just discovered this sad news this evening when I searched for Joe's whereabouts on the internet. I'm so sorry we missed the time to say good-bye to a dear friend.
Joe and I became fast friends in college at OSU (1970) and stayed in touch all these years. He often made me laugh out loud. He excelled as a listener and observer of need, and I believe he deeply cared about the well-being of others. He had a subtle humility which quickly made you feel important in the scheme of life. I know Jesus was his model of compassion and sacrifice, and now he enjoys that relationship up close and with no barriers.
I was looking forward to Joe's return to Columbus just after Christmas, but this was not what we had in mind. He would argue that God doesn't make mistakes so like Joe, we must trust His good purposes.
We miss him and our prayers are with you. |

| Joe was a good friend of ours and of our family. We knew him mainly through our two sons, Dan and Doug. We enjoyed his visits over the years, especially the humorous stories based on his many and varied experiences! We will miss him and extend our sympathy and prayers. |
