Obituary

David M. Faehnle, 94, of Upper Arlington, passed away Friday, April 7, 2017. Preceded in death by wife, Dorothy, the mother of his children; wife, Mary Anne; and grandson, Joey. Survived by sons, Steve (Chris) of Abilene, Texas and children
David, Tim, Sarah, Stephanie, Jerimiah; Bob (Pam) of Chardon, Ohio, and children Andrew, Nicholas, Jeffrey; daughters, Polly (Terry) Poindexter of Denver, Colorado, and children Michael, Danny, Ashley; and Teresa (Bob) Whitman of Upper Arlington, and children Alex and Bobby; and 14 great-grandchildren. David graduated from Our Lady of Victory High School and The Ohio State University College of Engineering. He worked as a civil engineer for Elford, Inc. for 32 years. He served his country as a Lieutenant J.G. in the Pacific Theatre in WWII. David was a founding member of Saint Agatha Church where he was a member of the Men's Club and served on many boards. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Builder's Exchange, and a past president of the Columbus Gyro Club. As a member of the Columbus Rotary Club, he enjoyed wrapping Christmas gifts and
distributing them each year to the students at Colerain school. David delivered Meals on Wheels for many years. He was an avid gardener and reader, and loved to play golf and tennis. David had a unique sense of humor that endeared him to many. He was a proud family man who thoroughly enjoyed the accomplishments of his children. Calling Hours will be Monday, April 10, from 5 to 7 p.m. at SAINT AGATHA CHURCH, 1860 Northam Rd. (Upper Arlington), where his funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 11, at 10:00 a.m. Father Dan Ochs, Celebrant. Flowers may be sent to Saint Agatha Church.
