Obituary

Marjorie A. Petruzzi, age 82, passed away on Friday, January 22, 2016, at Mother Angeline McCrory Manor. Marjorie is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, James V. Petruzzi, Jr., and her son, "P.J." Petruzzi. She is survived by her son, James Vincent (Sandy) Petruzzi, III, and daughter, Colleen Yahner; grandchildren, Kristian (Russell) Hammer, Kyle (Sarah) Petruzzi, Paul Yahner, Nathan Yahner, Alan Yahner, Joshua Petruzzi and Jarrod Petruzzi; great grandchildren, Skyler Petruzzi, Jackson Hammer, Frances Hammer and Cordelia Hammer; sister, Marie (Edward) Dennis; brothers-in-law, Robert (Janet) Stone and Michael (Elise) Stone; sister-in-law, Patty Slagle. Marjorie, one of the original members of Creative Housing, Inc. Board of Trustees, retired from the Board in November 2015, after being an active volunteer for close to 40 years. She first provided leadership with the parent organization at her son's school, becoming a regular member of the "Parent League," providing feedback to agency administrators on behalf of parents and students. As a person with a physical disability, she also was able to help with practical suggestions on the design of the Franklin County Residential Services, Inc., properties built in the 1980s. This led to her appointment to the Creative Housing Board in the early 1990s. In addition, as a member of the graduating class of 1950 from Linden-McKinley High School, she and many of her (female) classmates gathered monthly for lunch for 65 years. She was also a member of St. Matthias Catholic Church. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m., on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 W. 5th Avenue, Columbus. Funeral Mass 10:00 a.m., on Thursday, January 28, 2016, at St. Matthias Catholic Church, 1582 Ferris Road, Columbus. Rev. Fr. Raymond Larussa, Presider. Burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Lockbourne. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may contribute in memory of Marjorie to Creative Housing, 2233 City Gate Dr., Columbus (43219). Condolences may be sent via www.johnquint.com.

I am going down memory lane thinking of what great time we had as neighbors when we were both first married.
Such fun. Thank you

We would first like to say we are so sorry for your loss. We know however that Marjorie is now reunited with the love of her life so perhaps you can take some comfort in that. We were fortunate enough to care for her for many years and we always marveled at her strength and positive mental outlook. Jim was such a great caretaker and he never wavered. Their love and commitment was an inspiration to all of us. You are in our thoughts and prayers and we can all now envision Marjorie free of her worldly body and running around happily in the clouds.

I was sadden by the news of your mom’s home going... My heart grieves and yet rejoice at the same time knowing that she’s at peace with our Heavenly Father! Her work is done here on earth, but her legacy will live on in the hearts of many.

May God Bless you & your family at such a time as this!
