Obituary

Mary D. Gerardi, age 102, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2015. She was married at St. John the Baptist Italian Catholic Church on April 22, 1939. A devout Catholic, Mary was a devoted 62 year member of St. Agnes Parish. She contributed her time and talents to St. Agnes and St. Aloysius churches, working for many years and in many capacities for the spiritual and financial support of these churches. She was a member in many spiritual organizations including "The Associates." She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Sam M. Gerardi; parents, Dominic and Rose Policaro; her daughter-in-law, Judy Gerardi; brothers, Pat and Tony Policaro and several brothers and sisters-in-law. She is survived by her ever loving son, Joseph J. Gerardi; grandsons, Joseph S., James R. (Laurie) and Sam N. (Carla); great grandchildren, Joe, Mila, Matt, Sammy, Jimmy, Luke, Lyla and Jack; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A special thanks to her niece, Patty Policaro for her loving assistance over the past few years; and also to Mt. Carmel Hospice and the staff of Altercare of Hilliard. Her family will receive friends on Monday, September 28, 2015, from 3-7 p.m., at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 West Fifth Avenue, Columbus (with a Prayer Service at 6:45 p.m.). Funeral Mass 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 29, 2015, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 2364 W. Mound Street, with the Rev. Fr. Ronald J. Awbry as the Presider.
