Obituary

Guy A. DeVito Sr, age 84, died unexpectedly on Monday, September 14, 2015. Loving husband, amazing father and grandfather. Avid golfer and very active in his church and community. Beloved coach at St. Aloysius; Retired U.S. Army and member of the American Italian Golf Association. Preceded in death by parents, Salvatore and Margaret (Fraganato) DeVito; son, Guy DeVito, Jr.; great grandson, Kyle; and several brothers. Survived by his beloved wife Verna of 62 years; children, Kim (Steve) Magaw, Rocky (Pam) DeVito and Michelle Groeniger; daughter-in-law, Vicki DeVito; grandchildren, Guy, III, Tony (Michelle) DeVito, Melisa (Jason) Pearce, Jaime (James) Johnson, Jennifer (Richard Hansel) Magaw, Michelle (Adam) Beach, Troy (Becky) Magaw, Tiffany (Shawn) Wood, Amber (Lee) Robbins, Rochelle (Ty) Keaton, Jon, Jenna and Jill Groeniger; 35 great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends on Thursday, September 17, 2015 from 4-8 p.m., at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 West Fifth Avenue (Columbus). Family and friends are asked to gather at St. Aloysius Church, 2165 W. Broad Street at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, September 18, 2015, for his funeral Mass. Entombment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Lockbourne. Condolences may be sent via www.johnquint.com. In lieu of flowers, donations in Guy's name is preferred to the American Heart Association, 5455 N. High Street, Columbus, Ohio 43214.
