Obituary

Julia "Judi" Cincione, age 80, left home to be with the Lord, January 28, 2015, after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. A lifelong resident of Columbus, Ohio, Judi touched many lives. She was an active member of St. Christopher Catholic Church and volunteered with the Adult Education program, the Altar and Rosary Society and Women’s Club. A woman of strong faith, she was an LCHS Lady Commander of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. Judi was also active in Grandview Heights’ civic, senior and parks and recreation activities, including the annual Pumpkin Run. For many years she danced with the Bella Tappers and she was a well-recognized neighborhood walker who also loved to play tennis, swim, do yoga and play with her grandchildren and darling dog, Pippin. Judi was a proud graduate of St. Joseph Academy and The Ohio State University, where she worked for several years. She also held positions at The League of Women Voters and the Diocese of Columbus. She was proud of her service as a grass roots volunteer for many causes and was a member of the Franklin County Democratic Women’s Club. Judi was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be dearly missed. She is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Alphonse "Al" Cincione; daughters, Catherine and Theresa Cincione; son, Matthew (Karen) Cincione; grandchildren, Nicholas Chaney, Alison (Chris) Hoag, Adam, Cara and Aaron Cincione; sisters, Rosemarie (Terry) Yurasek and Patricia (Patty) Gardner, and many nieces and nephews and godchildren. She is preceded in death by parents, Charles and Lorna (Snider) Core; siblings and in-laws, Joe Yurasek, Charles (Chuck) and Virginia (Ginny) Gilligan, Thomas and Eva Core and Howard Gardner. Special thanks to Judi’s generous and attentive caregiver Katie Yoder of National Church Residences. Dear Friends,
We are so sorry to hear of your loss. We knew Judi through her capable and loving children. Obviously she did a terrific job in that role as well as all her lifelong dedication to church, social, political, and community activities. It was a pleasure to know such a kind and gentle person, always smiling and genuinely thoughtful. We offer our sincere condolences and hope that time will lessen the pain in your hearts. God has blessed everyone through her and will bless you equally because of her.
