Obituary

Ruth Keyes Swanson, 80, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2014. Devoted wife to her husband Carl, who predeceased her, and proud mother of three daughters, Derby (Swanson), Elna (Morin), and Gretchen (Blubaugh) and her grandchildren Scott, Allison, Gunnar and Jacob. Ruth was an ardent reader, talented needlepointer, gifted puzzle-solver, avid animal lover, superb home decorator with a unique eye for design, welcome volunteer in her community, active member of Williamsburg's Bruton Parish, and an aficionado of sunrises and sunsets in many parts of the world. She had a wry sense of humor and enjoyed sharing a laugh with friends and family. Ruth will be dearly missed. A memorial service will take place at 10 a.m. on November 1 at Our Lady of Victory Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a local animal shelter or Humane Society.
